One weekend in January 2008, I developed a fever and a sore throat. My parents took me to a doctor right away; he diagnosed it as a viral infection.
My condition grew worse by the day,and I was sent to doctor after doctor and even spent a few hours in a hospital. On Friday I was feeling so bad that I was admitted to hospital. That's where my memory breaks off. The next thing I remember is being told that I had had a streptococcus infection that the doctors had missed, that it had developed into sepsis, and that doctors had had to amputate all four limbs so that I could survive. Today I face a lot of challenges due to my physical limitations, but I'm trying to make the best of things. My parents and my brother are helping me. My goal is to be able to go to university, and I hope to major in business and medicine. My dream is to have a hand transplant so that I can take part in everyday life again.
